Einzelteile der Maschine befinden sich im Besitz von Edward Taylor. Die Maschine soll mit Hilfe von Teilen anderer Maschinen und Nachbauteilen in einem statischen Zustand rekonstruiert werden.
Die Maschine wurde ursprünglich als Bf 109 E-3 bei Erla gebaut. Bei der Auslieferung bekam sie das Überführungskennzeichen ER+GW.
Sie war unter anderem bei der 1./JG 1 und bei der Ergänzungsgruppe/JG 52 im Bestand.
