Dieser Jabo gehörte zur 2./Jagdgeschwader 51 und machte am 07.10.1940 vor der Küste von Kent eine Notwasserung. Leutnant Erich Meyer wurde von den Engländern aus dem Wasser gerettet und geriet in Kriegsgefangenschaft.
Die Maschine wurde 1976 von Tauchern aus dem Ärmelkanal geborgen und kann im Kent Battle of Britain Museum in Hawkinge bestaunt werden.

In der Verlustliste[Q-84][+i] wird die Version als Bf 109 E-4 angegeben, die Fotos der Bergung zeigen scheinbar jedoch Tragflächen mit MG 17. Demnach könnte es eher eine Bf 109 E-1 oder Bf 109 E-8 gewesen sein.
